Born in Lisbon in 1969, where he continues to live and work, Paulo Brighenti began to ex­hibit in the middle of the 90s of the 20th century, working mostly on painting, drawing and engravings. In 2002, he won the Revelation Award of the Arpad-Szenes – Vieira da Silva Foundation in Lisbon.

In 2008, he presents a solo show at the Museum Casa Museu Nogueira da Silva, Braga. Another solo show “The radio head series” opened at the Baginski – Gallery / Projects. In 2007 he participated in the exhibitions “To Draw the Drawing” at the Baginski Gallery/Projects, “Transfer, works from the Modern Art Center’s Collection” at the Museum Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior, in Castelo Branco, and “Ra­sura/Erasure” at the exhibition place Project Avenida in Lisbon.

His works are represented in the following European public collections: the Bank of Spain, Madrid, the CGAC – Galician Centre of Contemporary Art, Santiago de Compostela, the Ilídio Pinho Foundation, Oporto, and the Arpad Szenes – Vieira da Silva Foundation, the Modern Art Centre of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Chiado Museum in Lisbon.
