EVA BENSASSON, London, 1973.
Lives and works in London. Studied Fine Art, Painting at Kingston University and Chelsea College of Art and Design. Since 1998 has worked mainly with photographic still images. She is currently engaged in visual arts research at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Bensasson’s practice explores how photography can be used to represent aspects of public space in relation to the mass of human presence. It also reflects on contested constructions of collective memory. The configurations of stillness and stasis within the photographic are important considerations, as are the impacts of seriality and repetition on visual representations of the everyday. Recent activities include exhibitions at Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Madrid and at the Deutsche Bank Salon d’Apollon, London and artist residencies at PVA LabCulture in Dorset and the Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral in the Rhineland-Palatinate. download .pdf file |
