Délio Jasse (1980) was born in Luanda, Angola.

In 2009, he won the Anteciparte Award, and participated in the exhibition with the same name, with all the shortlisted artists, at the Museu do Oriente, in Lisbon. The same year, he showed a solo project at the independent art space Voyeur Project View in Lisbon, as well as participated in the II Certame PHOTOAFRICA 09, African Film Festival Tarifa, Spain. In 2008, he participated, between others, in the group show INPUT, at the National Museum of Natural History (SIEXPO), in Luanda, Angola, as well as in the show “Construção e Desconstrução” at Convento dos Cardaes, Lisbon, Portugal.

Délio Jasse came with 18 years from Angola to Lisbon. Once in Portugal, he started to work in serigraphy studios where he learned the different techniques of impression and gets to know the Portuguese artistic world. It’s from here one that the artists also has his first contact with photography. He begins to experiment with older techniques, as e.g. the pin-hole technique. Today, he appropriates himself of old negatives, he finds or buys, and works with prints in techniques and materials that are mostly unconventional, as cardboard, tissue, wood, etc.

The artist is represented in several Angolan and Portuguese private and public collections, from which we would like to mention the Collection Sindika Dokola in Luanda.
